Air defence forces shot down 32 out of 78 drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine
During the night of Sunday, December 1, the Defence Forces neutralized 32 strike drones launched by Russia against Ukraine. More than forty enemy UAVs were lost thanks to the effective actions of electronic warfare means.
The attack began at 20:00 the previous day, and air defense was active in six regions. Details were reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is reported that the aggressor used 78 Shahed drones and unidentified type UAVs from the directions of Kursk, Orel, and Bryansk in the Russian Federation.
The attacks were repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
Air defense operated in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, and Poltava regions.
As of 09:00, the downing of 32 enemy UAVs has been confirmed, with an additional 45 Russian drones likely lost due to EW countermeasures of the Defence Forces.
Meanwhile, one drone remained in Ukraine’s airspace, and combat operations continue.
