The Verkhovna Rada failed the vote on the draft law on liability for publishing data
The Verkhovna Rada did not support bill No. 10242, which strengthens criminal liability for unauthorized dissemination of data from electronic registries.
This was reported by People’s Deputy from "Holos" Yaroslav Zheleznyak in Telegram.
"In total, 213 members of parliament supported the decision. And the repeated second reading received 229 votes.
Let me remind you, a clever provision was added there regarding the return of confiscated assets to corrupt officials who made deals with the investigation. Thus, the question arises, what about this? For example, we have our bill No. 12269, which addresses this issue….. without a doubt."
Earlier, journalists, referring to the words of People’s Deputy Andriy Osadchuk, reported that the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on Law Enforcement reviewed bill No. 10242 on December 4. According to Osadchuk, the deputies decided to reduce the level of criminal liability proposed in the bill. Previously, a punishment of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years was envisaged, and now sanctions ranging from 2 to 5 years during martial law are proposed.
