In Zakarpattia, 6 border violators were detained: they were planning to cross the Tysa River on inflatable boats
On the night of Saturday, December 21, six men were detained in Zakarpattia as they planned to swim across the Tysa River in inflatable boats to reach Hungary.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.
A group of unidentified individuals was discovered near the border at approximately 2:00 AM by the border patrol unit of the "Vylok" department of the Mukachevo detachment. An operational group immediately set out to detain the violators.
After overcoming the barrier fence, the men quickly moved towards the border. The patrol detained them 300 meters from the state line. Four residents of Zakarpattia, a resident of Kyiv, and a resident of Vinnytsia admitted that they intended to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. According to the detainees, they planned to swim across the Tysa River using inflatable boats.
“Having previously secured promises from smugglers of a safe and unimpeded crossing, the men headed to the river. However, no means of water transport were provided to them,” the State Border Guard Service reported the details.
Currently, the detachment’s operatives are identifying individuals involved in organizing the crossing of this group of men across the border. Protocols regarding administrative offenses, as provided by Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine," have been drawn up for the detainees. The cases have been sent to court.
