Situation at the front: Russia attacked the most on two directions of the front

The Russian army continues to attack in various directions, attempting to break through the defense lines of Ukrainian troops and capture new territories. Over the past day, 186 combat engagements were recorded at the front.

The most active hostilities are ongoing in the Vremivka and Pokrovsk directions. This was reported in the morning briefing of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on December 22.

During the day, Russian occupiers launched one missile strike on Ukrainian units and settlements and 37 airstrikes, dropping 70 guided bombs. In addition, the enemy shelled our positions and settlements over five thousand times, 137 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

Airstrikes affected the areas of Ivanivka, Yampilivka, Zakitne, Siversk, Zvanivka, Markove, Chasiv Yar, Kostyantynivka, Romanivka, Katerynivka, Udachne, Oleksandropil, Pokrovske, Lysivka, Zvirove, Temyrivka, Sadove, Prydniprovsk, and Antonivka.

In return, the rocket and artillery forces of the Defense Forces launched ten strikes on the areas of enemy manpower and equipment concentration.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy continued to attack. Six combat engagements occurred in total. The fights were concentrated in the areas of Kozacha Lopan, Vysoka Yaruga, and Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, there were four enemy attacks during the day. The Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Petropavlivka and Kruglyakivka.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 20 times, trying to advance near Zelenyi Hai, Hrekivka, Nadiia, Terny, and Ivanivka.

Using aviation in the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked twice in the direction of Verkhnokamianske and Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers conducted two assaults near Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy made six attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Druzhba.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 29 attempts of enemy advancement near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelenyi, Novyi Trud, Dachen, and Novovasylivka. The enemy actively used aviation.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Defence Forces repelled 15 attacks in the areas of Stari Terny, Kurakhove, and Dachne.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy conducted 47 attacks on our positions in the area of Uspenivka, Yantarne, Kostyantinopil, Novosilka, Blahodatne, and in the direction of Rozlyv and Odradne.

Over the past day, in the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian positions were attacked seven times near Novoandriivka and Piatykhatky.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, our defenders repelled five attacks, with no success for the enemy.

The Defence Forces of Ukraine continue to repel attacks by the occupying army units in the Kursk region. Over the past day, the enemy made 41 attempts to push back Ukrainian defenders.

No signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy from the territory of Russia uses artillery in the areas of Ukrainian settlements and conducts reconnaissance.

Our warriors actively inflict significant losses on the occupiers in manpower and equipment. In total, the losses of Russian invaders amounted to 1820 personnel over the past day. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 15 tanks, 29 armored combat vehicles, 32 artillery systems, three air defence systems, 50 operational-tactical UAVs, and 81 vehicles.
