At the border with Poland, three more fake marriages were uncovered

At the checkpoints "Hrushiv" and "Krakivets", the border guards of the 7th border Carpathian unit discovered three fake marriages.

At "Hrushiv", they recorded two of these "couples" at once. A 43-year-old native of the Cherkasy region married a 53-year-old compatriot. The couple allegedly was traveling to visit the husband’s friend in Warsaw.

The other "newlyweds" claimed to be heading to Poland to meet the husband’s mother’s sister. Interestingly, the man knew almost nothing about his wife and could not even provide the address of their shared residence. The "couple" was traveling from Cherkasy. Accompanied by the police, the 40-year-old woman and her 24-year-old companion departed the checkpoint.

Another fake couple was detected at "Krakivets". A 47-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman were supposedly traveling to the United Kingdom for a visit.

The true motives for the marriage will be investigated by law enforcement agencies since the operational officers of the unit sent a report to the police indicating signs of a criminal offense under the article on illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine.
