Power outages will continue for another 2-3 years, - Oleksandr Kharchenko

This is the opinion of the Director of the Energy Research Center, Oleksandr Kharchenko.

This is a common situation when at temperatures of -5 degrees and below, we face restrictions. We simply do not have a physically sufficient amount of generation left in the country,  — Kharchenko explained.

At the same time, Kharchenko noted that under certain weather conditions and circumstances, the restrictions may be reduced. Sometimes restrictions may disappear when electricity consumption is minimized.

"But it is normal for restrictions to exist when the temperature is -5 degrees and below. We simply do not have a physically sufficient amount of generation left in the country. Therefore, we need to be prepared that we have to deal with restrictions for the next 2-3 years and remember that they can return at literally any moment," – the expert stated.
