Fighter from the "Rolls-Royce Battalion" Dmytro Kartsyhin – who is this mysterious millionaire?

Among the thirteen Rolls-Royce Spectre bought by Ukrainians this year, there is a car with license plates KA 7777 YU. It drives in Monaco and is registered to a Ukrainian citizen, Yuliya Kartsyhina. Although it belongs to her husband, Dmytro Kartsyhin.

However, neither Yuliya Kartsyhina nor Dmytro Kartsyhin have official incomes allowing such a purchase. Recall that the price of a Rolls-Royce Spectre starts at 650 thousand euros. This price and the lack of declared income explain the fact that the cars have Ukrainian registration - in our country, no one asks buyers about the origin of their money. The Rolls-Royce Spectre owned by the Kartsyhins was bought at the end of November, registered in Kyiv, received license plates KA 7777 YU, and left Ukraine on December 7. It then appeared in Monaco, where even the local wealthy, accustomed to luxury and incredible levels of life, were startled: only Arab sheikhs can afford a Rolls-Royce Spectre. And Ukrainians, whose homeland receives aid with an outstretched hand and owes the world so much that several generations will repay it.

But, as follows from the story “Rolls-Royce Battalion” by UP, not everyone receives aid. Some drive the roads of Europe in brand-new Rolls-Royce Spectres costing almost three-quarters of a million euros. Who is Dmytro Kartsyhin and where did he get the money for such a purchase? Moreover, it’s worth understanding that 650 thousand euros is not his last money; he doesn’t seem like a madman who buys a car with his last pennies. So, as Ostap Bender used to say, “the defendant has money, and a lot of it.” The question is – where from?

There is not much information about Dmytro Kartsyhin. According to official registries, he owns three legal entities – LLC “Optym Dnipro,” LLC “Tvoya Zemlya,” and NGO “Ekoglobal Ukraine.” All of them are registered in Dnipro, but do not carry out financial activities. In other words, Dmytro Kartsyhin does not have money from business.

As an entrepreneur, Dmytro Kartsyhin is registered, but does not conduct any activities. He also has lawyer certificate No. 4122 issued by the Dnipro Regional Bar Council in 2019, but no cases involving lawyer Dmytro Kartsyhin were found in the judicial registry. Therefore, the source of his income is not confirmed by anything.

However, judicial registries contain a lawsuit by "PrivatBank" against Dmytro Kartsyhin for debt collection of an unpaid loan, but, firstly, Kartsyhin took the loan back in 2010, and, secondly, the amount is laughable – 8,633 UAH 20 kop. By the time the bank turned to court, the debt had grown to 62,275 UAH 74 kop., but this only speaks about the need to either not take loans or repay them on time. Nevertheless, whether Dmytro Kartsyhin repaid this debt or not is not important: eight thousand hryvnias, even at 2010 prices, cannot explain the purchase of a supercar for 650 thousand euros in 2024. The unpaid loan only speaks of Dmytro Kartsyhin’s moral account, nothing more.

Maybe then Yuliya Kartsyhina really bought the Rolls-Royce Spectre? Maybe. But the question remains the same – where did the money come from? Yuliya Kartsyhina is registered as an individual entrepreneur in Dnipro and is engaged in design. However, earning 650 thousand euros is also impossible for her – sole proprietorship Yuliya Kartsyhina is a payer of the single tax of the second group, which means her turnover cannot exceed 5,587,800 hryvnias per year. Moreover, she was registered on March 11, 2024.

So, in no way does it work out. Neither for Dmytro Kartsyhin nor for Yuliya Kartsyhina. Furthermore, it should be considered that the couple, judging by their social media, do not live at their registered address but in Europe, where they lead a rather expensive lifestyle.

Of course, theoretically, one might assume that Yuliya’s father, Serhiy Khanovych, a well-known former Donetsk businessman, gave the money for Courchevel, Monaco, Monte Carlo, and the Rolls-Royce Spectre to the Kartsyhins. But almost all his business was left in Donetsk back in 2014. He himself has repeatedly told how activists of “Novorossiya” robbed him, and these stories are confirmed by other sources. Of all Khanovych’s enterprises, only two are registered in Kyiv and, according to registries, are also not drowning in money.

Of course, Serhiy Khanovych is not destitute – a person with his grip and experience has managed to get back on his feet over ten years. But it doesn’t seem like he would just suddenly give his daughter a Rolls-Royce Spectre worth almost seven hundred thousand euros.

Moreover, in the UP report on “Rolls-Royce Battalion,” the words of unnamed businessmen are directly quoted: "We advise paying attention to Dmytro Kartsyhin.” “Ukrainska Pravda” and its journalist Mykhailo Tkach – are reliable sources deserving of trust. Therefore, with almost one hundred percent certainty, one can assert that it was Dmytro Kartsyhin who purchased the Rolls-Royce Spectre. But the question remains - who is he and what does he earn? - is still open.

If we were living in Europe, Dmytro Kartsyhin would already be testifying to the local tax authorities and explaining where he got the money for such an expensive purchase. But we are in Ukraine, which, contrary to the claims of our infantile compatriots, is far from Europe. Therefore, we will search for information about Dmytro Kartsyhin on our own. The only thing that can be argued is that he earns illegally. And, judging by everything, he has a powerful "protection" at the very top of Ukrainian power. Because without it, even trading potatoes at the market is impossible here. And here, clearly, it is a matter of millions of dollars, also illegal ones.
