Night drone attack: 61 drones out of 103 were shot down

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"In the night on January 5, the enemy attacked with 103 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of mock drones from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel," the message states.

The aerial attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

"As of 9:00, the confirmed downing of 61 Shahed-type strike UAVs and other types of drones," the military reported.

Air defence operated in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytskyi regions.

In addition, 42 enemy mock drones were lost location-wise.
