Air defence shot down two missiles and about 80 Russian drones at night, - AF
On the night of January 6, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using two X-59 guided air missiles and 128 strike drones (Shahed and decoys). The drones were launched from Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
This information was reported by the Air Force.
The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 9 a.m., two Kh-59 guided air missiles and 79 Russian drones were shot down in the Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, and Vinnytsia regions.
Another 49 decoy drones were lost in location (without negative consequences).
As a result of the downed drones, buildings of enterprises, institutions, and private houses were damaged in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Kyiv regions. Initially, no casualties or injuries were reported.
The military noted that as of 8:30 a.m., new groups of drones were entering the country’s territory from the north.
