Russia launched over a hundred drones overnight: Air defence managed to destroy 78

On the night of January 13, the Russian Federation (RF) used 110 Shahed-type strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drone decoys against Ukraine. The air defence (AD) managed to destroy 78 of them.

This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The enemy launched drones from the directions of the Russian cities of Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The following were involved in repelling the air attack:

• aviation;
• anti-aircraft missile forces;
• electronic warfare (EW) units;
• mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defence Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9 am, the downing of 78 drones has been confirmed in the Poltava, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk regions, and several other areas.

31 drone decoy was lost location-wise with no adverse consequences.

Destruction due to the night attack

"Due to the fall of downed enemy UAVs in the Sumy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Zaporizhzhya regions, there is damage to buildings of enterprises, private and state institutions, private houses, and vehicles. Initially, there are no casualties or injuries," the Air Force writes.
