The officer reported "slow progress" in the Pokrovsk direction
At the moment, the Russian occupiers do not have sufficient forces to conduct a large-scale encirclement of Pokrovsk with a wide front from the flanks.
This was stated by the head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Tymochko, on air with Espreso.
"The situation is very serious. However, currently, Russia does not have enough forces to completely encircle Pokrovsk from the flanks. They may try to block logistic routes from the western or eastern side of the city, but they have not yet managed to completely deprive the city of logistical support. The Russians have not been able to completely resolve the issue of the Kupyansk salient, which is a serious problem for them. Additionally, they have not gained control over the road leading from Zaporizhzhya to Donetsk, which is important for our military contingent. Therefore, under such conditions, it will not be possible for the occupiers to launch a massive offensive on Pokrovsk," he noted.
According to Tymochko, the enemy will try to disrupt logistics and expand the front from the flanks. However, for them, this will become a "creeping offensive."
"The Russian troops consist of different groups, and the commanders of these groups may not always act coherently, leading to internal struggle for recognition. They will try to advance both from the flanks and head-on. But they currently lack the forces for an operational breakthrough. Even the 70,000 they have are insufficient for conducting large-scale operations," he emphasized.
