Air defence forces shot down 43 Russian drones over 9 regions of Ukraine overnight

On the night of January 19, Ukraine’s sky defenders destroyed 43 Russian drones of different types over nine regions. Another dozen and a half UAVs were geographically lost.

The attack lasted from 8:00 PM the previous day. The results of the defence were reported by the Command of the Air Force of the AFU.

It is noted that this time the enemy used 61 Shahed-type strike drones and various types of decoy drones against peaceful Ukrainian cities from the directions of Millerovo, Bryansk, Orel (RF).

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9:00 AM, the downing of 43 Russian drones has been confirmed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.

In addition, 15 enemy decoy UAVs were geographically lost without negative consequences. At the same time, one was still in the country’s airspace, with ongoing combat work by air defence.
