The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained how they captured a serviceman from North Korea
It is known that DPRK soldiers fighting against Ukraine are reluctant to surrender. They are willing to commit suicide to avoid being captured by our troops.
One of such cases is discussed in a video by the Command of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which they posted on Facebook. The Polissya paratroopers managed to capture such a North Korean soldier.
According to our military, it all started with a morning assault that lasted until the evening. There was strong pressure from the DPRK military.
"We received an order over the radio to increase vigilance in the direction of our location. We let them come close. Our drones helped us greatly, and our mortar operated excellently. We held our position and fought until our reinforcements arrived. And they (the DPRK soldiers – ed.) realized that they could not breach our defences and began to retreat," said a Ukrainian defender.
Then everything went quiet, but the drone operator reported that a body was moving nearby and asked to check who it was. With the help of drones that guided our soldiers, they approached and saw that it was a Korean soldier.
"On his bulletproof vest, there was a grenade, a knife, and some sausage for eating. He was wounded. We showed him the direction to follow us; our task was to get him to our location. When our vehicle approached, he became scared. We almost forcibly led him to the vehicle, and he hit a pole with all his might and fell. He wanted us to approach him to grab a weapon and do something to us," said another Ukrainian military personnel.
The Polissya paratroopers managed to get the DPRK soldier into the vehicle, and he was taken to a safe place where he was given help and food.
