The court selected a preventive measure for a 16-year-old suspect in the beating of a girl in Bila Tserkva
The court has chosen a preventive measure for a 16-year-old boy suspected of beating a 12-year-old girl in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, and extorting money from her. He will be held in custody.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv region police. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
"The court has chosen a preventive measure for the minor for torture and extortion of money from a 12-year-old child in Bila Tserkva. During the pre-trial investigation, the minor will be held in custody for two months without the possibility of bail," stated the message.

The press service added that law enforcement officers have reclassified the actions of all participants in the crime and are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the act of torture committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2, Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of up to 10 years of imprisonment.
