SOF operators captured an occupier abandoned by Putin’s troops

Ukrainian warriors of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) once again demonstrated their professionalism and humanity. Our defenders took a Russian occupier captive, who had been left to die by his own command.

This was reported by the press service of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During aerial reconnaissance, SOF operators spotted a Russian soldier in open terrain.

As it turned out, he and his comrade had been wounded over a month ago. Their command left them without food, water, or means of communication. One of the soldiers died, while the other survived, awaiting rescue that never came.

Ukrainian drone operators decided to give the occupier a chance to surrender: they dropped him a message with the offer. He left his weapon and without hesitation followed the drone, which led him to Ukrainian positions.

Realizing he was simply abandoned, the Russian soldier recorded a farewell video. In it, he admitted that in the Russian army, the slogan "We don’t abandon our own" is just empty words. This recording, as well as the occupier himself, is now in the possession of the SOF.
