The situation on the front: The Russian Federation is using its advantage in manpower

As of the morning of January 28, the situation on the front remains difficult. The enemy, using its advantage in manpower and equipment, continuously attacks the positions of the AFU.

This is reported by the General Staff of the AFU.

According to the General Staff, 159 combat engagements were recorded over the past day.

According to updated information, the enemy launched 28 airstrikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements yesterday, dropping 60 GABs. In addition, they conducted over five thousand shellings, including 87 from multiple rocket launcher systems, and employed 2,411 kamikaze drones.

The aggressor carried out airstrikes, including in the areas of the following settlements:

Bila Bereza, Zarutske in Sumy region;
Zaporizke in Dnipropetrovsk region;
Stepnohorsk in Zaporizhzhya region.

Situation on the Fronts

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted five times to break through the defensive lines of our defenders near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, six invader attacks occurred yesterday. Our defenders repelled enemy assaults near Pishchane, Kutkivka, Petropavlivka, and Lozova.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked ten times. They tried to wedge into our defenses near the settlements of Novoyehorivka, Kopanky, Makiivka, Terny, Zelena Dolyna, Yampilivka, Zarichne, and Kolodyazi.

In the Siversk direction, our troops successfully repelled one enemy attack in the Bilohorivka area.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked seven times in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Stupochki, Predtechyne, and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy conducted 13 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske, Diliivka, and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 85 enemy assault actions towards the settlements of Vodyane Druhe, Zelene Pole, Yelyzavetivka, Myroliubivka, Sukhyi Yar, Zelene, Kotlyne, Udachne, Nadezhdynka, Kotliarivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Bohdanivka, Baranivka, Promin, Pokrovsk, Novoandrivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne.

In the Novopavlivsk direction, the enemy conducted eight attacks in the areas of Novosilka, Kostyantynopil, Rozdolne, and Velyka Novosilka.

In the Orikhiv direction, occupation forces twice stormed the positions of the Defence Forces in the area of Novodanylivka and towards Orikhiv.

The Defence Forces are making efforts to prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory, successfully repelling three offensive actions of the enemy in the Prydniprovskyi direction.

In the Hulyaipole direction, the enemy did not conduct active operations last day.

In the Volyn and Polissya directions, signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were not detected.

The Defence Forces of Ukraine continue operations in the Kursk region. Yesterday, the enemy launched 24 airstrikes, dropping 30 GABs, and conducted 302 shellings, including three from MLRS. Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 enemy assault actions.
