In Mariupol, a police officer and a realtor attempted to seize someone else’s apartment
A police sergeant and a realtor organized a criminal scheme to obtain an apartment in the central district of Mariupol.
This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
Last summer, the police officer learned about an apartment where no one was temporarily living. The officer decided to intimidate the owner with false information that the apartment had accumulated large utility debts and that the property could be seized. To prevent this, the law enforcement officer offered to sell the supposedly problematic apartment.
Later, a realtor joined the scheme, obtained a notarial power of attorney for the apartment, and intended to sell it for $12,000. From this amount, they planned to give the owner only 50,000 hryvnias.
However, the woman became suspicious and contacted law enforcement agencies. A day before the sale agreement was to be signed, the notarial power of attorney was successfully revoked. The realtor, to retaliate against the woman, filed a police report accusing her of committing a crime.

The perpetrators attempted to sell someone else’s apartment in Mariupol.
As a result, on March 19, the police officer and the realtor were notified of suspicion of fraud committed by a group of individuals conspiring together. Additionally, the realtor was charged with false reporting of a criminal offense. If found guilty, the suspects could face up to 8 years of imprisonment.
