On the evening of February 13, a Range Rover belonging to Svitlana Kryukova, the former deputy chief editor of "Strana.ua", burned down in Kyiv. In January 2025, she was sanctioned.

This was reported by law enforcement sources, as well as Kryukova in a comment to UP.

"The car burned. No one has congratulated me on St. Valentine’s Day like this before. A month ago, sanctions were imposed on me by a presidential decree. Among the restrictions was a ban on using and managing my property, so I hired a driver.

This car was usually used by the driver to transport children to sports sections, and in the evenings, he would take it to his district and park it near the house. It was there that the incident occurred."

The event took place on February 13. According to law enforcement sources, close to midnight, a Range Rover, which Kryukova was the actual user of, caught fire in one of the yards in the Desnianskyi district.

The fire damaged an apartment on the second floor of the building and the facade, but no one was injured.

The fire was extinguished in time, but the car is beyond recovery.

The police are currently determining the cause of the fire – "explosion or arson". Relevant examinations and investigations are being conducted.

Kryukova noted that she understands the "customers", but "it is imprudent to name specific individuals". At the same time, she immediately mentioned a blogger-volunteer and an activist, whom she had previously sued, as well as the Office of the President, since she was recently sanctioned for propaganda in favor of Russia.

Direct quote from Kryukova: "My circle of ill-wishers is wide and clear, some of them manifested long before the sanctions. In recent months, I have been involved in a legal process with blogger Ihor Lachenkov, activist Denys Koshelnyk, and their friends... Obviously, I also have ill-wishers in the President’s Office... Today I learned a new name for myself - Dmytro Lytvyn (presidential advisor. - ed.)".
