Ukrainian artillery defeated a Russian assault group in Donetsk region

While Russian forces try to advance, Ukraine is capable of giving a worthy response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s demands regarding Ukrainian minerals.

With the help of artillery and drone strikes, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently repelled an attack by Russian troops in the settlement of Ulakli and its surroundings. Drones from the artillery group "Tivaz" recorded approximately 10 destroyed and abandoned Russian vehicles.

The failed attack, one of several in the southeastern part of the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine in recent days, may signal the failure of the Russian offensive in this area. The political consequences could be significant.

Just two weeks ago, the Russians were actively operating. They recently ousted the Ukrainian operational-strategic group "Kharkiv" from Velyka Novosilka, a few kilometers from the settlement of Ulakli, and were ready to pursue the retreating Ukrainians and potentially achieve a breakthrough in the area where the Donetsk region borders Zaporizhzhya.

Now a Russian breakthrough seems unlikely.

"Exhausted by losses and intense fighting over the past month, the enemy will not be able to quickly pursue OSUV ’Kharkiv’, whose units are retreating from Velyka Novosilka," — explained the Ukrainian Center for Defence Strategies.

The Russians have suffered heavy losses along the border of the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions and are experiencing a shortage of troops and equipment. The Russian Armed Forces are diverting resources from the southern part of the Donetsk region.
