Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported on the situation in the region
As of February 19, a significant number of people remain in the frontline city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. The situation in the city and the community is extremely difficult.
This was reported by Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, during a telethon broadcast.
«The most difficult situation is in the city of Pokrovsk, where 6,835 thousand people live, and in the community — over 9,500 thousand. The enemy is shelling all access roads and evacuation transport,» he noted.
Approximately 50 people have been evacuated from the city over the past week.
According to Filashkin, several stores are still operating in the city, but any gathering of people immediately becomes a target for the Russians.
«We are relocating stores to other places, in basement premises,» he reported.
The head of the administration also noted that 205 people remain in Chasiv Yar, 45 in Toretsk, and 140 in the Toretsk community.
«People are not evacuating, we are delivering humanitarian aid to locals with the help of the military,» added Filashkin.
