Russian occupiers carried out a massive attack on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure on the night of February 20. Production facilities, in particular, were damaged.

This was reported with reference to the Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, on Facebook.

"Tonight, Russia once again carried out yet another massive missile-and-drone strike on gas infrastructure. Production facilities, in particular, were damaged. As soon as the security situation allowed, specialists began assessing the damage and restoration work," he reported.

According to the minister, the goal of the Russian attacks is to stop gas extraction necessary to meet the domestic needs of citizens and centralized heating.

Measures are currently being taken to eliminate the consequences of the attacks and stabilize gas supply.

"While Russia continues to blatantly lie about not attacking civilian critical infrastructure, we are witnessing how several missiles purposefully target Ukrainian gas production facilities," added the head of the Ministry of Energy.
