The White House released an official statement citing arguments in support of the words spoken by the President and Vice President to Zelenskyy: «Trump and Vance will never allow the American people to be exploited».

«President Trump: «Let me tell you, you have no cards. With us, you have cards – but without us, you have no cards at all».

According to a November Gallup poll, more than half (52%) of Ukrainians want the war to end as soon as possible and believe that Ukraine «should be open to ceding part of its territory in exchange for peace».

Since the announcement of martial law in Ukraine, 1,000,050 Ukrainians have been conscripted into military service. In October 2024, Ukraine announced the conscription of an additional 160,000 people, bringing the total number of conscripted Ukrainians to 1,160,050. The average age of Ukrainian servicemen is 43 years.

«Even if the West really provides all the promised weapons to them, we won’t have enough people to use them», stated one of the close aides of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Time magazine’s Simon Shuster, noting that the average age of Ukrainian soldiers has already reached 43 years.

One of Zelenskyy’s closest aides told TIME in 2023 that he «[deceives] himself... We have no options. We are not going to win. But try telling him that».

The Ukrainian army is facing increasing desertions as «poorly trained and exhausted soldiers go AWOL», and the army is further exacerbated by recruitment challenges and the «arrests of respected and popular combat officers».

Zelenskyy himself admitted that the situation in Ukraine could lead to World War Three and that without U.S. assistance, they will lose: «World War Three may start in Ukraine, continue in Israel, spread to Asia, and then erupt elsewhere».
