Trump responded to Putin’s statement on the truce: territories and NATO are being discussed
U.S. President Donald Trump commented on Vladimir Putin’s statement about readiness for a ceasefire and negotiations with Kyiv. During his speech at the White House, he noted that discussions on territorial issues and other elements of a possible agreement are already underway.
We would like to see a cessation of hostilities from Russia, and, you know, we weren’t working with incomplete information. We discussed with Ukraine the land, the areas that would be retained or lost, and any other parts of the final agreement. There’s a power plant involved, you know, a very important facility.
Who will get control over the power plant, who will get this or that? So, you see, it’s not an easy matter. But the first step should be a ceasefire. Despite this, many individual issues have already been discussed.
We talked about territorial concepts because we wouldn’t want to make efforts towards a ceasefire if it doesn’t lead to any outcomes. That’s why we say: "Here’s what you can have, and here’s what you can’t."
The issue regarding NATO and membership in this organization was discussed, and everyone knows what the answer is. Frankly, this answer has been known for decades. Therefore, many details of the final agreement have actually already been discussed.
Now we’ll see if Russia is ready. And if not, it will be a moment that greatly disappoints the whole world, the president stated at the White House.
