Both presidents agreed that Ukraine and America must cooperate to achieve a real end to the great war. The statement by the two officials notes that the two leaders agreed on a partial ceasefire on energy facilities.

Technical expert groups will meet in the coming days in Saudi Arabia to discuss the expansion of the ceasefire regime in the Black Sea region as an interim step towards a full truce. This may be the first step towards ending the war and ensuring security, according to the State Department.

"Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to President Trump for his leadership in these efforts and confirmed readiness to accept a full ceasefire," the release states.

During the conversation, the presidents assessed the situation in the Kursk region of Russia and agreed to coordinate data exchange between defense departments amid changes in the frontline.

Zelenskyy requested additional Patriot air defense systems to protect the civilian population. Trump assured that he would try to find available options, possibly in Europe.

The Ukrainian leader thanked Trump for continuing support in solving humanitarian issues, including the exchange of prisoners of war and the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.
