A man and his wife wanted to carry out a terrorist attack near the TRC in Ternopil

According to the investigation, a 42-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, residents of Poltava region, under the direction and remote supervision of a "curator" — arrived in Ternopil to install explosive devices near a TRC for a reward.

This was reported by the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

— The civilian couple, acting on instructions via phone, collected improvised explosive devices left for them in a store’s storage locker and left them in a rented apartment. According to a plan previously agreed with the "curator", they were supposed to install the devices with remote control under a parked car near the TRC and in a yard close to an administrative building. As per the enemy’s calculations, the explosive under the car was supposed to go off first, and after the arrival of emergency services at the scene, another one. However, thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement officers, the terrorist attack was prevented, and the perpetrators were detained while attempting to leave the region, — stated in the prosecutor’s office’s report.

The suspects were remanded in custody.
