Trump retreats from promises to end the war in Ukraine within 100 days.

Secretary of State Rubio refused to specify how long it might take.

"We will strive for peace as long as it takes. This does not mean I can guarantee that an agreement will be reached within a week or a month. I cannot set a timeline, because it does not depend solely on us. It depends on the Russians and the Ukrainians. It also depends on our European partners, who have sanctions, and I believe they should be considered in any final agreement," — Rubio said while speaking to reporters on the way to Miami.

He added that the willingness of the parties for peace will be tested, "when it comes time to sign the agreement or if we remove all obstructions and resistance still remains on one side, then we will see it, but we are not at that stage yet."
