The Komarnytskyi Case: Kyiv City Council Secretary Bondarenko "is being summoned on the carpet"
The right-hand man of Klychko, who was removed from conducting meetings, will be asked whether there was a conflict of interest during his communication with the notorious overseer in Kyiv, and his integrity will be assessed by examining all materials published by journalists and opened by NABU in a high-profile criminal case.
In the Kyiv City Council, it was decided to invite its secretary, Volodymyr Bondarenko, to the meeting of the Regulation Committee to ask him uncomfortable questions. These will concern NABU and the "Komarnytskyi Case," the journalistic investigation by Bihus.info, and the influence of the former overseer of construction and land sectors in Kyiv on the city council. Bondarenko has reportedly agreed to attend the meeting.
Victoriya Ptashnyk, a member of the committee and a deputy from the "European Solidarity" party, announced on Facebook the invitation of Volodymyr Bondarenko, the secretary of the Kyiv City Council, to the meeting of the committee on regulation, deputy ethics, and prevention of corruption. She noted that the "Clean City" operation by NABU resulted in some figures receiving suspicions and a loss of trust in others - specifically referring to the city council secretary. As previously reported by Informator, in the recordings from Komarnytskyi’s office and in his phone conversations, Bondarenko’s name appears multiple times. In one episode, the "overseer" criticizes the Kyiv City Council secretary for not closing the session.
"At the beginning of last week, I initiated the invitation for Kyiv City Council Secretary Volodymyr Bondarenko to our committee. Credit must be given to Mr. Bondarenko - he promised to attend," Victoriya Ptashnyk stated in her post.
Judging by the letter to the committee chairperson, a copy of which was posted by the deputy, she plans to review the materials published by NABU and journalists concerning Bondarenko’s adherence to deputy ethics standards at the meeting. Questions about the presence of a conflict of interest and the proper execution of his duties are to be posed to him. The Regulation Committee meeting was tentatively scheduled for March 28, 2025.
Interestingly, when Deputy Ptashnyk invited her followers to submit questions to Bondarenko in the comments, the Kyiv residents showed no leniency towards the city council secretary. On the contrary, they asked why he had not resigned, whether his diploma was indeed forged (a story from 10 years ago when another investigation revealed that the city council secretary did not study with the group he claimed). Ptashnyk also received her share of negativity, as her political "boss," Volodymyr Prokopiv, was also the subject of a journalistic investigation and was removed by Klychko from his duties as deputy mayor.
