NABU uncovered a scheme of illegal access to closed court decisions: suspicion announced
Law enforcement officers have charged three individuals, including two lawyers, with unauthorized access to confidential court decisions, which allowed them to obtain restricted information about investigative actions to alert clients, as reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
"NABU and SAPO have charged two lawyers and the de facto head of a law firm with unauthorized access to the closed part of the Unified State Register of Judicial Decisions," NABU stated in a message on Telegram on Tuesday.
According to the investigation, the suspects illegally accessed the closed part of the USRJD, including decisions of the High Anti-Corruption Court. Later, a special script was developed that collected data and the content of new court decisions regarding the lawyers’ clients every 12 hours, allowing for manual searches in the register.
Thus, the suspects systematically obtained restricted information about investigative actions to alert clients. In total, almost 40,000 search queries were made, and over 7,500 court decisions were reviewed.
