The NABU has notified former Deputy Military Prosecutor Dmytro Borzykh of suspicion
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), has notified Dmytro Borzykh, the former deputy chief military prosecutor Anatolii Matios, of suspicion.
What is known about the suspicion?
According to official information from NABU, Borzykh and two other suspects – lawyers and the de facto head of a law association – illegally obtained access to the closed part of the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations (URPI).
The investigation established that they obtained data on closed court decisions using a special script that collected information every 12 hours and allowed for searches in the register. In total, nearly 40,000 search queries were made and over 7,500 court rulings were reviewed.
According to NABU, the suspects systematically passed the information obtained to their clients, among whom are well-known businessmen, oligarchs, and officials:
-
Ihor Kolomoiskyi – oligarch, former owner of "PrivatBank",
-
Borys Kaufman – businessman associated with Odesa airport,
-
Oleksandr Hranovskyi – former Kyiv City Council deputy,
-
Kyrylo Shevchenko – former head of the NBU, who fled abroad.
Lawyer’s Immunity
Since Borzykh is currently practicing law, a permit from the law association is required for his detention.
Previously Opened Cases Against Borzykh
In 2018, NABU opened a criminal case against Borzykh following an investigation by Bihus.Info. It was found that in his classified declaration he did not indicate expenses for renting a house in the village of Lisnyky near Kyiv (390 sq. m) and his partner’s property.
Journalists recorded that the woman drove a Range Rover Evoque worth about 1.5 million UAH, while Borzykh’s official salary was only 31,000 UAH.
The case of illegal enrichment and false declaration was closed and reopened several times.
The investigation is ongoing. If Borzykh’s guilt is proven, he faces criminal liability.
