Onufriyivka settlement head Bereza lied in the declaration by 7.3 million hryvnias - NAPC
In the declaration of the village head of Onufriyivka, Vitaliy Bereza, for the year 2023, inaccurate information was found totaling 7.3 million hryvnias. According to the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAPC), Bereza indicated his savings and those of his wife, which include one million hryvnias in cash, 100,000 dollars, and 50,000 euros in cash.
However, the family’s financial situation did not allow them to accumulate such an amount of savings. In his previous declarations, particularly in 2019, Bereza indicated only 100,000 hryvnias in savings, and his wife had no savings. Nevertheless, in 2020, after Bereza became the village head, he declared 1.2 million hryvnias in savings. However, during that year, he and his wife earned only 158,000 hryvnias, which did not make it possible to accumulate such an amount.
In the 2023 declaration, according to the NAPC, he reported an income of 664,000 hryvnias in the position of village head, and his wife had an income of 225,000 hryvnias. These amounts do not confirm the savings indicated in the declaration.
The NAPC determined that Vitaliy Bereza violated the criminal article on false declaration. The case has been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for further investigation.
