The HCAC refused to confiscate the apartment of National Police official Tsvyetkov
The High Anti-Corruption Court denied the confiscation of an apartment in Kyiv worth 2.4 million UAH, belonging to the Deputy Head of the Criminal Analysis Department of the National Police, Denys Tsvyetkov.
This decision was made by the HACC on March 31, reports "Slovo i Dilo".
As known, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit for the confiscation of the apartment belonging to the Deputy Head of the Criminal Analysis Department of the National Police, Denys Tsvyetkov. According to the prosecutor’s office, the deputy head of the National Police department, Tsvietkov, purchased a residence in Kyiv. The acquisition of this property was allegedly carried out using funds borrowed from the police officer’s mother, which she also borrowed from a third party. However, an analysis of the participants’ income in these legal relations did not reveal official sources for such funds. Following the prosecutor’s request to secure the lawsuit, the HACC seized this property.
However, as the court established, Tsvyetkov indeed received a gift of $90,000 from his mother. The mother received these funds from Tsvyetkov’s sister, who, along with her husband, took them for a business project in Ukraine, which they were unable to realize. The amount in question was $200,000. The loan was documented, so the court dismissed the lawsuit.
"To deny the claim of the State of Ukraine represented by the SAPO against (Tsvyetkov - ed.) regarding the recognition of assets as unreasonable and their recovery in state revenue. To cancel the arrest imposed by the ruling of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated 16.09.2024 on the property belonging to (Tsvyetkov - ed.), namely: the apartment (total area of 82.5 sq. m)", the decision states.
