Lithuania plans to provide Ukraine with 20 million euros for the purchase of ammunition
Lithuania plans to allocate 20 million euros to Ukraine for the purchase of ammunition, as announced by Defence Minister Dovile Sakaliene.
The statement by Lithuania’s Defence Minister is quoted by LRT.
The Lithuanian Defence Minister urged to expedite assistance to Ukraine, as "summer could be extremely difficult."
"For example, Lithuania plans to add another 20 million euros for the purchase of ammunition, as it is one of the things Ukraine currently needs the most," she noted.
In June last year, Lithuania’s State Defence Council agreed to allocate no less than 0.25 percent of the country’s GDP annually for military aid to Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the war, Lithuania has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth approximately 800 million euros. The total amount of Lithuania’s long-term assistance to Ukraine has exceeded 1.5 billion euros.
