Martial law in Ukraine may be lifted earlier if the war ends, - Chernyev

Martial law in Ukraine, despite the Verkhovna Rada’s decision to extend it for 90 days, can be lifted earlier if peace is achieved, stated Member of Parliament Yehor Chernyev.

"The extension for 90 days does not mean that it will last 90 days. If we achieve peace in this war earlier, then it is quite clear that the Verkhovna Rada can vote to support the termination of martial law at any time within these 90 days," — noted the deputy head of the defence committee of the Verkhovna Rada.

Thus, Chernyev emphasized that the duration of martial law depends on the situation on the front, and in case of achieving peace as soon as possible, it can be lifted prematurely.
