Kyiv police refuted fake photos of alleged "occupant leaflets"

In social media, images with a message were spread claiming that allegedly in Kyiv, unknown individuals posted flyers, including those with the symbols of the occupying forces. The police refuted the fake news, noting that the published photos have clear signs of photo editing.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police. Citizens were urged to trust only official sources of information.

"Kyiv police inform that this morning some Telegram channels published posts stating that unknown individuals posted flyers in the city with the symbols of the occupying forces and propaganda slogans," the message says.

As the law enforcement officers noted, the information about the flyers was registered, and police officers from territorial subdivisions were immediately dispatched to investigate it.

During a thorough inspection of the city districts, no flyers were found. Furthermore, a detailed analysis of the images shows that they were created using photo editing.

"Police officers urge media resource administrators not to spread unchecked and unreliable information! Remember, our enemy is insidious and conducts war against Ukrainians on different fronts, including in the public space. By publishing such information, you only play into the hands of the aggressor," emphasized the press service.
