The government called Zelenskyy’s meeting with Trump an opportunity to achieve peace through strength

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko, commenting on the meeting between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump, stated the possibility of achieving peace through strength.

The Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister wrote on X.

As Svyrydenko noted, the meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy is an "opportunity to move forward."

"The Saturday meeting of Presidents Trump and Zelenskyy at the Vatican is a chance to move forward, to build real peace through strength," she emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin does not seek peace but merely wants to buy time.

"Tougher sanctions and increased pressure are the way to end the war, which will be beneficial for both Ukraine and the United States," Svyrydenko concluded.
