Russia on the Zaporizhzhya direction is sending tank crews and artillerymen for assaults, — Voloshyn
Due to significant losses on the front, the Russian army is forced to deploy not infantry but servicemen from support units for assault operations — including tank crews, artillerymen, engineers, and signalmen.
This was reported to Ukrinform by the spokesperson for the Southern Defence Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, as 24 Kanal reports.
According to him, on the Zaporizhzhya direction, where a large-scale offensive is expected in the coming days, the enemy has already run out of assault infantrymen. For this reason, units are being formed from so-called "disposable soldiers" — consisting of military personnel from combat support sections.
The shortage of assault troops is most acutely felt in the 35th, 49th, and 18th Combined Arms Armies of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation. The Kremlin demands "results" by May 9, specifically reaching the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region or establishing control over a bridgehead near Zaporizhzhya.
"This causes outrage, especially among artillerymen who are specifically trained for other tasks, yet they are being thrown into trench assaults," Voloshyn noted.
