Former lawyer of Shufrych, Lytvynenko, will appeal the decision to suspend his legal practice
Viktor Lytvynenko, the former lawyer of Member of Parliament Nestor Shufrych, has decided to appeal the decision of the Kyiv Regional Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar (QDCB) to suspend his legal practice for one year.
On January 22, 2025, the QDCB decided to suspend Lytvynenko’s right to practice law because, according to the commission’s findings, he disclosed information to the SSU investigators that became known to him while performing his legal duties. Lytvynenko, who has worked for Shufrych for many years, disagrees with this decision and intends to appeal to the court.
In February 2024, Lytvynenko’s premises were searched, and in March of the same year, the court released him from criminal liability as he admitted his guilt by providing incriminating evidence in the case against Shufrych. Lytvynenko received the status of a witness in this process.
Now he is trying to restore his right to practice law through the court.
