Syrskyi: on the Pokrovsk axis, it was possible to stabilize the situation and in some areas seize the tactical initiative

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Defence Forces have managed to stabilize the situation in the Pokrovsk direction. 

"The Pokrovsk direction is one of the most challenging sections of the front in the Russo-Ukrainian war. However, thanks to the courage and skill of the Defence Forces’ warriors, the situation in this operational zone in Donetsk region has been stabilized, and in some areas, tactical initiative has been seized," he wrote on Telegram.

Syrskyi highlighted the 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skala" — one of the units effectively employing active defense tactics and destroying invaders.

"Thanks to the efforts of ’Skala,’ Ukraine has repeatedly regained control over territories occupied by the enemy. This was the case in 2022 in Izyum during the Kharkiv offensive operation, and it also happened this spring in the area of the village of Shevchenko near Pokrovsk," the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

During a working trip, Syrskyi awarded honorary distinctions to servicemen of the 425th regiment. 

"Soldiers, sergeants, officers, you perform your tasks with honor. Ukraine believes in you, and you can always be relied upon," he said.
