The situation at the front: The most active assaults by Russia are on the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions

On May 6, 2025, the Defence Forces of Ukraine conducted 171 combat engagements.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

Yesterday, the enemy launched four missile strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements using four missiles, as well as conducted 96 airstrikes, dropping 187 guided aerial bombs. In addition, over 6400 shelling incidents occurred, including 109 from multiple launch rocket systems, using 3267 kamikaze drones.

The aggressor carried out airstrikes on areas of settlements such as Rusin Yar, Nova Poltavka, Stara Mykolaivka, Myrnohrad, Bilytske, Yablunivka, Novoolenivka, Poltavka, Pokrovsk, Oleksandro-Kalynove, Zorya, Novopavlivka, Novopil, Zelene Pole in Donetsk region; Novodarinivka, Temyrivka, Olhivske, Huliaipole, Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, Kamianske in Zaporizhia region; Verbove in Dnipropetrovsk region; Olhivka, Novooleksandrivka in Kherson region.

Enemy casualties

Yesterday, aviation, rocket forces, and artillery of the Defence Forces attacked 10 areas of manpower concentration, weapons and military equipment, a radio-electronic warfare station, a radar station, four drone command posts, four artillery systems, a command post, and two ammunition depots of the enemy.

Fights in Kharkiv region

Over the past day, eight combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv direction, in the areas of Vovchansk and Vovchanski Khutory.

In the Kupyansk direction, three attacks by the occupiers were recorded during the day. The Defence Forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the areas of the settlements of Zahryzove and Petropavlivka.

Situation in the east

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 21 times. They attempted to advance in the areas of the settlements of Lypove, Nadiia, Zelenyi Hai, Ridkodub, Yampilivka, Torske, and in the directions of Novyi Myr, Zelenyi Dol, and Kolodiazi.

Yesterday, in the Kramatorsk direction, five combat engagements occurred in the areas of Kurdiumivka and Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy conducted eight attacks in the areas of Dachne, Druzhba, and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 77 attacks by the aggressor in the areas of settlements such as Kalynove, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udachne, Zvyrove, Novooleksandrivka, Nadiivka, Troitske, Novosergiivka, Kotliarivka, Sribne, Andriivka and towards Malynivka, Nova Poltavka, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Myroliubivka, Oleksiivka.

In the Novopavlivsk direction, the Defence Forces repelled 23 enemy assaults near the settlements of Kostiantynopil, Pryvilne, Rivnopil, Novosilka, Vilne Pole, Shevchenko, Novopil, Odradne.

South

The enemy attacked our positions twice in the Vysoke area in the Hulyaipole direction.

In the Orikhiv direction, near Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske, and towards Novoandriivka, the invaders made four futile attacks on our defenders’ positions.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian occupiers unsuccessfully attempted to approach our defenders’ positions once.

Kursk region

In the Kursk direction, our soldiers repelled 11 enemy attacks the previous day. The enemy conducted 336 artillery shellings, 14 of them from multiple launch rocket systems. Additionally, they carried out 12 airstrikes, dropping 18 guided aerial bombs.
