In the Kursk region, drones "caught" the Russian radar "Zaslon"

In the Kursk region, operators from the Unmanned Systems Forces struck a rare "Zaslon" radar station on a wheeled chassis. This state-of-the-art equipment was detected at a significant distance from the Ukrainian border and was disabled using drones.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces. The radar was "captured" by operators of the 413th "Raid" battalion as part of the consolidated unit of the "Bumblebee" UAVs of the 78th separate airborne assault brigade.

The report concerns a unique modification of a ship-based radar complex installed on a wheeled base. The "Zaslon" radar is capable of detecting aerial targets at a distance of up to 300 km, providing coordinates for anti-aircraft missiles, and controlling the fire of air defence and artillery.

"The cost of a single ship-based ’Zaslon’, as reported by Russian media in 2019, was about $46 million," the report states.

Meanwhile, in the Donetsk region, the same "Raid" operators successfully attacked another valuable enemy equipment – two TOC-2 "Tosochka" flamethrower systems. These installations are the latest modernization of the well-known TOC-1A "Solntsepek" and have been in service with the Russian Federation since 2021.

The first successful strike on TOC-2 in Ukraine was recorded only in February 2025.
