Throughout the war, Ukraine secretly conducted direct negotiations with Russia, reports MP Honcharenko.

According to him, this happened "not once, not twice, and not even three times," "it happened in 2022, in 2023, and even in 2024."

"The delegations were at a very high level. The meetings were held on the Arabian Peninsula. (Yes, there are several countries there where such things can happen quietly, without cameras.) So, if someone now begins to claim the ’impossibility’ of direct negotiations—just know: they have already occurred. And not just once," wrote Honcharenko, adding that those negotiations "did not succeed."

Recall, yesterday Trump wrote that Ukraine should "immediately" agree to direct negotiations that Russia proposed to hold. After this, Zelenskyy announced twice that he would personally go to Istanbul for these negotiations and invited Putin there. The Kremlin has not yet reported whether the Russian president will attend.
