The HACC did not lift the seizure of MP Tyshchenko’s property

The Higher Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) rejected the motion to lift the arrest on the property of the People’s Deputy from the "Servant of the People" party, Mykola Tyshchenko. The arrest was imposed within the framework of a criminal case under articles on illicit enrichment and false declaration (part 1 of article 366-2, article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to NABU, in 2022, Tyshchenko allegedly acquired assets worth over 30 million hryvnias, significantly exceeding his official income, and also submitted false information in his declaration.

Cash was seized, amounting to — $171,550 and €150,000, as well as an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore watch. These assets were confiscated during searches at Tyshchenko’s residences and his former wife’s home. Some of the funds ($320,000 and €240,100) were transferred to NABU from another case by the SBI.

Tyshchenko’s defense insisted on lifting the arrest, citing alleged procedural violations and the legal origin of the property. However, NABU detectives refuted these arguments, emphasizing the legality of the searches and procedural actions.

The court determined that the property is material evidence in the case, and the arrest is necessary to preserve the evidence during the pre-trial investigation. It was also noted that the lifestyle of the deputy, including travels abroad and the purchase of expensive items, does not correspond to his official income.
