A massive drone attack in occupied Crimea: explosions in Sevastopol, Yalta, and Perevalne
In several areas of occupied Crimea, explosions were heard on the morning of May 16. It is likely that the Russian invaders’ air defence systems were working due to a drone attack, and at the same time, there were reports of a fire at an ammunition depot.
This was reported by Crimean Wind.
It is worth noting that today, in the morning, Crimean public pages wrote about loud explosions that could be heard in the areas of Yalta, Alupka, Sevastopol, and later also in Perevalne.
Social media users write that allegedly the Russian occupiers’ "Pantsir-S1" air defence systems fired at drones in Sevastopol from the Fiolent highway area.
There were also reports of three powerful explosions near the Alupka coast, and "two dark smoky clouds could be seen in the sky."
Footage from Sevastopol was published online, supposedly showing a missile trail in the sky following a shot from the occupiers’ air defence from the territory of the local Nakhimov Naval Academy.

Meanwhile, the gauleiter of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, assured in his Telegram channel that the explosions heard in the city were the result of air defence operations.
"According to preliminary information, 6 UAVs were destroyed in the air over the sea at a great distance from the shore," noted a representative of the occupation "administration."
Crimea residents also reported a series of explosions in the Perevalne area online. The 126th Separate Brigade of Coastal Defence of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is stationed there, as noted by Crimean Wind. Smoke was reported in this location.
Later, Telegram channels reported a fire in Perevalne, where an ammunition depot of the 126th Separate Coastal Defence Brigade of the Russian occupiers was allegedly on fire.
Additionally, explosions were reported in Sevastopol, near the Belbek and Kacha airfields. The network also mentions explosions in the Bakhchisarai area.
"Due to the fire at the ammunition depot in Perevalne, the Simferopol - Alushta road is closed. Drivers are asked to take an alternative route," Crimean Wind reports and publishes a corresponding photo.
