The Supreme Court will review the prosecutor’s appeal against the verdict of former judge Kononenko

The Supreme Court will consider the appeal of a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office against the sentence of 5 years of imprisonment given to the former judge of the Leninsky District Court of Poltava, Serhiy Kononenko.

This decision was made by the Cassation Criminal Court on May 29, reports Slovo i Dilo.

As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court found Kononenko guilty and sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment. Later, the Appeals Chamber of the HAC confirmed the sentence but reduced the penalty to 5 years of imprisonment. The SAPO prosecutor filed a cassation appeal against this decision.
