The company with a scandalous reputation "Onur" will be engaged in the repair of the Metro Bridge in Kyiv

The only participant in the large-scale tender for the restoration of the Metro bridge roadway was the Turkish company "Onur." The contractor is ready to perform the road repairs for 1 billion 995 million hryvnias.

This is reported by Telegraf with reference to the announcement in the electronic public procurement system "Prozorro." The deadline for submitting tender proposals ended on Monday, June 17.

It should be noted that "Onur" is a Turkish company operating in Tunisia, Moldova, Ukraine, and a number of other countries. They pride themselves on major road construction contracts but regularly find themselves involved in scandals.

Additionally, "Onur" often becomes the sole bidder in road repair tenders not only in Kyiv but throughout Ukraine. The restoration of the Metro bridge was no exception.

The company was involved in a scandal in 2017. At that time, the National Police suspected "Onur" of poor-quality repairs of Beresteiska (Victory) Avenue and a number of other highways in Kyiv. According to investigation materials, they were suspected of being involved in a scheme to inflate the cost of construction work.

The firm has also been in the spotlight due to dubious tenders, construction delays, corruption schemes, and more in other regions of our country.

We remind you that "Kyivavtodor" announced a tender for anti-crisis work on the Metro bridge. Nearly 2 billion hryvnias will be allocated from the budget for the project. According to the plan, all work is to be completed by December 31, 2026.
