The deputy head of the Poltava region police is suspected of using official resources for private construction
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Poltava has decided to take into custody Borys Reutov, the Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Poltava region.
He is accused of abusing his official position for personal gain. As an alternative to arrest, bail is set at 242,240 UAH.
The case is being investigated under Part 2 of Article 364 and Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the investigation, Reutov, along with the head of the logistics and material support department, involved their subordinates in construction work on private property during working hours. Moreover, they used official equipment and transport for this purpose, which were purchased with state budget funds.
Two houses were being constructed in the village of Rybtsi near Poltava. The land plots for construction were registered to trusted individuals: one of them was purchased in June 2023 by the father of the logistics head, and the other by a person close to Reutov, who also acted as his guarantor in financial transactions.
Law enforcement officers have already handed over charges to both figures in the case, and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
