NABU: a trip to Vienna is an official business trip, not a “covered escape”
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has published another clarification regarding the statements of the Security Service of Ukraine and publications about the possible involvement of Bureau employees in "aiding the escape" of businessman Boholyubov.
NABU emphasizes: the detectives’ trip to Vienna was an official business trip—at the invitation of the Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative (StAR), which is a joint program of the World Bank and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
The visit was pre-approved and took place within the framework of the Global Forum on Asset Recovery, held on June 25-27 in Vienna. NABU detectives participated in a number of official bilateral meetings.
The Bureau stresses: none of the participants in the trip are familiar with the individuals mentioned in the SSU video and have no relation to the claims made in it, particularly regarding "cover carriage" or "assistance in escaping."
NABU adds that it operates exclusively within the law and independently of any individuals—regardless of their position or status. The message also published an official response letter from the event organizers— the StAR initiative.
