Searches of National Guard Commander Pivnenko have caused a crisis on the front line, — Malyuk

Searches of the Commander of the National Guard, Oleksandr Pivnenko, have seriously affected the morale of the military at the front. Some soldiers refused to follow orders, while others even wanted to return to Kyiv.

This was stated by the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, at a briefing.

Malyuk emphasized that the events concerning the searches conducted by NABU detectives of the general — Hero of Ukraine, caused a significant resonance among the military. According to the Head of the SSU, half of the National Guard personnel laid down their arms, doubting the loyalty of their commander, while the other part wanted to leave their positions.

“Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko spent a week touring the units to stabilize the situation,” added Malyuk.

Pivnenko himself, according to the Head of the SSU, was shocked by the searches, even attempting to seize his phone during reports from the front. Malyuk stressed that such treatment of a military commander is unacceptable and could harm defense capabilities.
