After searches by NABU and SAP at the commander of the National Guard Pivnenko, "part of the National Guard laid down their arms, and another part wanted to head to Kyiv," said the head of the SSU Malyuk.

He believes that NABU detectives and SAPO prosecutors should have been met with "a gun in hand and leave two magazines there" when attempting a search.

"How can you enter the premises of the commander of the National Guard, a Hero of Ukraine, a combat general, Pivnenko, with a search? Does he deserve this? And then it spread across Telegram channels. Part of the National Guard laid down their arms, did not want to carry out tasks because they started doubting their commander. Another part decided to head to Kyiv, and the Minister of Internal Affairs Klymenko spent the entire week visiting his units and working with them. When they came to Pivnenko, he received messages from the front: ’Hey, give me the phone.’ What kind of situation is this?" - said Malyuk.

He believes that if the new law, adopted on Tuesday, which limits NABU’s powers, had been in effect, the prosecutor general could have suspended the decision to conduct a search.
