The authorities of the "DPR" promise to reduce the water deficit by 40%, but it will take time
Such prospects for residents of settlements suffering from water shortages were described by the head of the so-called "territory development fund," Vasyl Kupyzin. According to him, the construction of pipelines from the Uhlehirske and Pavlopilske reservoirs is planned.
This is reported by local media.
It is expected that the water diversion works have already started. Thus, the transfer of water from the Pavlopilske reservoir to the Starokrymske reservoir — the only water supply source for Mariupol — is planned. Currently, 6 km of pipes out of the planned 17 km have been laid. The completion of the work is scheduled for 2026.
The construction of the pipeline from the Uhlehirske reservoir will take significantly more time. Here, it is planned to lay 21 km of pipes, but so far only trench digging has begun.
